About Us

Learn, Build and Live — Salesian vocational training in Dar es Salaam.

Don Bosco Oysterbay VTC is a mission-driven, not-for-profit vocational education and training institution managed by the Salesians of St. John Bosco (SDB), in Dar es Salaam. Our motto is “Learn, Build and Live”.

We prepare young people for trades and occupations, build moral and human values, and form skilled workers and upright citizens for national development. Long courses are VETA-accredited, full-time, one to three years, and lead to a National Vocational Certificate using the Competence-Based Education and Training (CBET) approach. Short courses offer standardised, tailor-made and in-service training, leisure training and career-entry training.

Our vision

We, the Salesians of Don Bosco and the teaching and non-teaching staff of Don Bosco VTC Oysterbay, believe we have been called and sent by God to empower young people, especially the poor and marginalised, in the charismatic style of Don Bosco.

Our mission

We prepare young people for life by helping them acquire technical skills in the departments we have, and by forming them so that they develop a strong self-esteem and become good citizens, growing in faith, respect, love, justice, freedom and work ethic.
